I am often asked where the name D’Canters originated. D’Canters is a clever combination of my two passions, wine and horses. The double entendre of decanting the wine and cantering the horse is how the name was established, way back when this was all just a little idea in 2006. The choice to use the apostrophe in the spelling is to accent the two different meanings, and if you look carefully at our logo, you will see it is really a jumping horse. Of course, D’Canters means so much more to me now! I invite you to come and enjoy out exquisite and award winning cuisine as our wonderful and friendly staff takes care of you. I feel so blessed to have had so much support and encouragement thus far. We look forward to serving you!
![]() ![]() | From Valley Living Magazine, May 2009 "Leading Ladies" If you had asked Angela Pike over 20 years ago when she took her first hostess job if she would own her own restaurant one day, she would have called you crazy. But that is exactly where her path has taken her. Wife, mother and Inland Empire resident for almost 10 years now, she was inspired to bring an innovative dining experience to the north end of the Temecula Valley. Her restaurant, D’Canters Wine Bar & Grill, is an original concept and the culmination of her vision, experience and dreams. The pieces continued to fit into place in 2007, as chef Tom Lambing came on board with his 25+ years of culinary magic. Fresh ingredients and homemade everything inspired the delectable lunch, dinner and brunch menus that D’Canters offers. The restaurant is named for her combined passion for both horses and wine (canter the horse, decant the wine). “You can never know everything about either subject, and that is what motivates me”. D’Canters offers a full bar and all the amenities of a complete restaurant. It uniquely features an extensive wine list, with over 40 wines by the glass and a very good representation of Temecula Valley. “Balance is important for anyone in business. For women I think it can be mentally and physically exhausting to constantly try to cover all the bases between home and work. It is important to make time for yourself as well. I try to squeeze a few hours in every week with the horses. It is a great therapy that gets me centered and keeps my head clear.” She credits her wonderful husband, friends and family for her incredible support network. D’Canters is blessed with a solid and loyal staff that she is pleased to say, offers the highest standards of service and quality, even when she is not there. She invites everyone to support local businesses and discover what D’Canters has to offer. “You won’t be disappointed!” D’Canters is conveniently located at I-15 and Clinton Keith. www.d-canters.com (951) 678-2828 |
